A three-year-old girl drowned in a deep well on Hassan Sule Street, Ikorodu area of Lagos on Sunday, our correspondent gathered yesterday.
The girl was among four persons who died in different situations in the city during the Sallah holiday.
It was gathered the girl whose identity could not be ascertained at press time fell into the well while playing with friends. A witness said the girl’s body had since been deposited at a public mortuary.
A fire incident at a three-storey building consumed the life of a 55-year old man at Amore street, Ajegunle in Ajeromi Ifelodun Area.
Four of the deceased’s children were among several other persons that sustained severe injuries in the incident. The deceased’s body was deposited at the morgue while the injured were taken to hospital.
Spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the South-West Region, Ibrahim Farinloye, said another fire outbreak which occurred at No, 19 Olusi Street, Lagos Island claimed the life of a 37 year-old man.
