BEFORE YOU QUIT YOUR JOB
BY ABIDEMI SOMOYE
Good morning my dear readers. It’s a beautiful morning filled with so much creativity. Celebrate yourself. Celebrate who you are. Remain happy no matter what. You are the best of your kind; let no one tell you otherwise.
- What do you really need to do before you quit your job for your passion?
- You just don't wake up on a Monday morning and drop your resignation letter. You need to have an Exit Strategy.
- Don’t also have a mentality that you need to be sacked before you tender your resignation. Your portion is not to be sacked. You can leave with honour and dignity. So first things first. What do you really need to do?
- Before you get your desired dream job, ask yourself why do I want to work in this organization? If you are already in, ask yourself why am I working here?
- Have a set time when you want to leave. But if you feel in your spirit that you want to be part of the owners of that organization, everything is possible. You can work towards it.
- Do not speak ill of your organization no matter what happens. They pay your salary. Be loyal. Pray for them if you can.
- Do not join people who say, if you leave this job today, there are no jobs out there. The truth is we were not called to live an ordinary life. We were called to make meaningful impact in the lives of people. Leave when you should, but it has to be properly planned for.
- Watch out for new opportunities in your organization. They are always flying around. Stay sensitive.
- If you don’t know what you have been called to do on earth, find it while working.
- If you know, consistently develop yourself on a daily basis. There is so much grace when you consistently do the right things.
- Structure your finances right from when your salary hits your hand. You cannot afford to spend your money anyhow because it is a big salary. Big can be small if not properly managed.
Here’s how you can structure your finances for your exit strategy:
- Read about the first fruit and the tithing principle. You will be glad you did. Just read the Money Book by Lanre Olusola and they asked one of the contributors of the book what advice will she give to people about becoming wealthy, She said learn to tithe consistently.
- Pay yourself more than 10% of what you earn. Do this consistently wether you leave or not.
- Invest the 10% as soon as it gets to a sizable amount. At times to get what best to invest in, you have to pay for investment advice.
- Above all, I trust God that you will do well in life. We will meet at the top.
- Stay Prayerful.
- Thank you for reading through. Also ensure you make some jottings after reading this article.
